1. Who operates the service

2. Adults only, 18+

The service is exclusively for people 18 years or older. When you register, you confirm you meet this requirement and accept these terms; we store the date and the version you accepted. If we detect or suspect an account belongs to a minor, it's reviewed with top priority and suspended.

3. What the service is

We connect you by 1-to-1 video call with other people, to chat, make friends or meet someone. During the call you can write in the chat. If both people like the call («Like»), you can keep talking by messages. Video and audio travel encrypted between browsers (directly, or through a relay server that doesn't store them); we don't record video calls. The platform is not part of what's discussed.

4. Free use and membership

• Video chat and messages are free, with no time limit, for everyone, and you can filter by gender and country at no cost.
• The membership is optional: it gives you priority to connect before everyone else in the queue. It's not required to use the service without limits.
• Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) before you pay, and are charged via PayPal. Today payments run in test mode: no real money is charged.
• One account per person.

5. Community rules

Prohibited: using the service as a minor or with minors; showing or requesting sexual content or nudity; harassment, threats, hate or illegal content; impersonating another person; asking for money, offering services, or directing others to payment platforms; sharing other people's personal data; and recording or sharing a video call without the other person's consent. Violators may be suspended or removed.

6. Your declared data

To offer filters and show whoever you talk to where you're from, we ask for your name, gender and country. These are self-declared; declaring false data to deceive others or bypass filters is a violation. Declared gender can only be changed after a certain period.

7. Blocks, reports and suspension

You can block anyone and report behavior or messages. Reports are confidential and reviewed by a person. An account can be suspended for breaking these rules; if you think it was a mistake, you can appeal the decision and someone from our team reviews your case.

8. Messages

You can only message someone who also gave you a «Like» after a video call. Messages are automatically deleted after 180 days, and you can delete the ones you sent whenever you want. Rate limits and anti-spam/scam filters apply.

9. Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms. If the change is significant, we'll notify you by email and on the site, with the date it takes effect; continuing to use Umbra after that date means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of Chile, and any dispute is resolved before the courts of Chile.
