Random video chat: talk face to face with new people
A random video chat puts you in front of someone you don't know, without browsing profiles or writing first. On Callumbra you tap «Start», your camera turns on and within seconds you're talking to a real person. If the conversation doesn't flow, move on to the next one.

How a random conversation works
- Go to «Video chat», choose your display name, gender and country, and tap «Start».
- We put you in line with the people waiting at that moment and connect you with the first compatible person.
- The video call is 1-on-1: nobody else sees or hears it.
- You can type in the chat during the call or use an icebreaker idea if you don't know how to start.
- «Next» ends the call and moves you to someone else. If you both tap «Liked», you can keep talking by message.
Random, but not blind
Pure randomness usually ends in two-second conversations. That's why Callumbra first checks whether you share interests or a language: pick up to 5 interests and, among the people waiting, we prioritize someone you have something in common with. If there's no match, it still connects you with whoever is available so you don't wait too long.
If you'd rather narrow down who you talk to, membership adds gender and country filters. Without it, random video chat works exactly the same.
Why we require an account
A fully anonymous site can't really kick out someone who's bothering people: they just come back in another tab. Here everyone has an account, confirms their email and declares they're of legal age; only adults 18+ can join. No bots or made-up profiles: there's always someone actually online on the other side.
If something bothers you
The «Report or block» button is visible throughout the call. Blocking ends the conversation instantly and that person won't show up for you again. A team member reviews every report, and the reported person never knows who sent it. Sexual content, harassment and anything involving minors lead to account suspension.
What it costs
Nothing: video chat and messages are free with no time limit. Membership is optional.
It works in your phone's or computer's browser; there's no app to install.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes, video chat and messages are free with no time limit for everyone. Membership is optional and only gives priority to connect ahead of the queue.
Does the other person see my email?
No. They only see the name you choose, your country and your video. Your email isn't shown to anyone.
Can I talk again with someone I matched with at random?
Yes. If you both tap «Liked», a message conversation stays open so you can keep in touch.
What if I'm matched with someone unpleasant?
Tap «Report or block»: the call ends, you won't be matched with that person again and the team reviews the case.
